Trauma Therapy
Improve symptoms, restore peace, and feel safe.
You’ve lost yourself and can’t seem to find your way.
Trauma and bad experiences change us, no matter how hard we try to forget it and move on.
Flashbacks, fear, and negative thoughts are just some of the things you may be feeling as a result of your trauma. Relationships can be affected and we start to look at ourselves differently. You don’t like who you’ve become, but the person you want to be seems out of reach. The anxiety you experience feels out of hand and things seem unchangeable. You want to rely on your support system, but they just don’t understand and you are left feeling isolated and alone.
You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:
You want to feel safe and secure, no matter where you are or who you are with
You want to have a mind that is peaceful and free of intrusive thoughts and flashbacks
You want your relationships to thrive and to stop feeling like you are weighing others down
You want to feel in control of your life
how We can help
Trauma therapy can change things for you.
Therapies we use to treat trauma, PTSD, and CPTSD
EMDR: this therapy reprocesses trauma directly in the brain to alleviate your symptoms on a biological level. It can be challenging at times, but well worth it in the end. It is the current gold standard for treating trauma due to its high effective rates and fast results. It combines talk therapy, mindfulness strategies, and bilateral stimulation to accomplish your trauma goals.
Internal Family Systems: this therapy focused on parts of the self, usually derived from trauma or maladaptive experiences, that are now existing and holding you back. These parts often need direct healing and isolating them for treatment is more effective than trying to treat the person as a whole. These parts of the self are often trying to protect us, and nurturing is key to healing.
Trauma-Informed CBT/DBT: other therapies can be used, as long as the therapist is trauma-informed and ensuring that nothing is causing a worsening of symptoms. Strategies can be modified or tailored to fit a person’s unique symptoms, allowing for a safe and healing space to be developed.

Common questions about trauma therapy
-
No! All of the modalities used in this practice deal directly with complex trauma and have been clinically proven to be an effective treatment. It may feel overwhelming to you, but we are trained in taking this off your plate and supporting you in your complex healing.
-
We all know that facing and thinking about our trauma is challenging, and naturally that can lead to some anxieties and fears about the process. Trauma therapy won’t be free of pain or negative emotions, but EMDR, IFS, and trauma-informed CBT serve to break down your trauma into smaller chunks, which makes it easier to deal with. You will never be approaching your trauma all at once and will always begin counseling with developing strategies to support you while doing trauma work.
