THERAPY FOR MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES

Support for those who need it most

The world doesn’t see who you are, but we do.

You have been repressed and depressed, and can’t get the support you need.

Society has made it clear, especially lately, that certain people are not supported, celebrated, or welcomed in all spaces. You’ve learned how to navigate the world despite this, but you are tired and burnt out. You need a space where you feel seen and heard with someone with the same lived experience as you.

Aside from the marginalization, you may also be experiencing mental health concerns that get pushed down because you simply don’t have time or space for that. You need someone who understands you from all aspects, and not just one facet of your being. You’ve come to the right place.

You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:

  • You need support that truly gets it

  • You want to feel safe and understood

  • You need support more now than ever before

how i can help

Therapy for marginalized communities can be the exact resource you need.

About Therapy for Marginalized Communities

We primarily use EMDR, IFS, CBT and DBT in this practice, and have taken specialized trainings in how to adjust and transform these modalities to fit the communities that we have lived experience in.

These communities include the LGBTQIA+ community, Chronic Illness/Disability community, and the BIPOC community.

During the intake appointment, a formal assessment of your symptoms and goals will occur, and this helps your therapist to determine the best way to move forward with treatment. We are a consent based practice and will always explain interventions and gain your consent before starting. We also highly value communication so please talk with your therapist directly if something isn’t working or needs to be adjusted. We are more than happy to make sure therapy is the best fit for you!
